WSC Q.21: Who is the Redeemer of God’s elect?
The only Redeemer of God’s elect is the Lord Jesus Christ, (1 Tim. 2:5–6) who, being the eternal Son of God, became man, (John 1:14, Gal. 4:4) and so was, and continueth to be, God and man in two distinct natures, and one person, for ever. (Rom. 9:5, Luke 1:35, Col. 2:9, Heb. 7:24–25)
WLC Q.36: Who is the Mediator of the covenant of grace?
The only Mediator of the covenant of grace is the Lord Jesus Christ, (1 Tim. 2:5) who, being the eternal Son of God, of one substance and equal with the Father, (John 1:1,14, John 10:30, Phil. 2:6) in the fulness of time became man, (Gal. 4:4) and so was and continues to be God and man, in two entire distinct natures, and one person, for ever. (Luke 1:35, Rom. 9:5, Col. 2:9, Heb. 7:24–25)

It pleased God, in His eternal purpose, to choose and ordain the Lord Jesus, His only begotten Son, to be the Mediator between God and man, (Isa. 42:1, 1 Pet. 1:19–20, John 3:16, 1 Tim. 2:5) the Prophet, (Acts 3:22) Priest, (Heb. 5:5–6) and King (Ps. 2:6, Luke 1:33) the Head and Saviour of His Church, (Eph. 5:23) the Heir of all things, (Heb. 1:2) and Judge of the world: (Acts 17:31) unto whom He did from all eternity give a people, to be His seed, (John 17:6, Ps. 22:30, Isa. 53:10) and to be by Him in time redeemed, called, justified, sanctified, and glorified.
